WHO we are
In The Frame are a Hartlepool-based filmmakers’ collective dedicated to supporting and empowering the screen industry community across the Tees Valley & Northeast since Sept 2023.
As a vital bridge between emerging creatives, established professionals, and the wider screen sector, we champion regional voices and talent, strengthen industry networks, and create pathways that ensure local talent can develop, collaborate, and thrive. We maximise industry opportunities and help build sustainable creative careers through mentoring, targeted professional development, and community engagement such as monthly events (featuring local film screenings, industry talks, workshops and networking) that are all free at the point of contact and zero-barrier access, encouraging local creatives to engage with the national and international industry.
WHAT we do
Our mandate is to connect and elevate the Northeast screen sector through providing the critical connective tissue between industry and community organisations.
Empowering Marginalised Voices
We equip regional individuals to produce cinematic art reflecting their lived experiences to champion Northeast culture. The exhibition of which reignites regional pride & encourages community integration.

We supply vital networks, facilitate knowledge and skill sharing, providing an infrastructure that equips industry creatives to transition into sustainable industry-ready careers.
Diversify the Talent Pipeline
We organically diversify the region’s creative workforce by removing financial and social barriers to entry.
Our dynamic and community-driven approach delivers measurable impact for the strategic objectives of key industry and regional stakeholders by identifying and resolving systemic gaps in our creative screen sector. Through targeted talent development, industry connectivity, and community-centred pathways, we address systemic workforce gaps to aid talent retention and further develop the human capital needed to support the Screen Industry Production Village and screen-sector investment. This further drives economic inclusion, supports screen-sector investment, and create sustainable career opportunities across the region through creating vocational pathways beyond traditional curricula.

Venue-Spanning Exhibitions
Nomadic, curated screenings transforming businesses into cultural hubs and increasing footfall, also complimenting other Northeast community-based exhibitions such as film festivals, cultural events, and art showcases boosting socioeconomic growth. Championing local voices through screening of diverse regional films building engaged audiences and contributing to lasting cultural regeneration.
WHERE we are
Hartlepool and the wider Tees Valley are experiencing significant growth and investment in the screen sector, yet many communities continue to face high levels of social deprivation. This contrast presents a unique opportunity to drive socioeconomic development and improve community wellbeing. In response to overwhelming demand, In The Frame Collective has championed targeted professional development and the development of crucial links between our community and established industry organisations and funded programmes.
WHERE
we’re going
Having established a thriving screen community, In The Frame Collective is focused on expanding zero-barrier access to the screen industry, creating opportunities beyond traditional educational routes and developing the human capital needed to support the Screen Industry Production Village and wider screen-sector investment across the Tees Valley as well as to ensure that local people are beneficiaries of this growth as well as active contributors to it.
As the only organisation who intrinsically represents the interest of screen community and the broader demographic, we endeavour to work alongside existing regional and local authority organisations to deliver aligned mandates which are otherwise limited by current funding models. Through future additional strategic partnership with civic, educational, philanthropic, and industry stakeholders, we aim to continue developing the infrastructure needed to broaden access, stimulate micro-business growth, support workforce development, and strengthen regional talent retention.
Further financial support would enable In The Frame to expand and sustain a complete, proven and scalable model for community-led industry development.
